For a long period on waiting for the untethered jailbreak of iDevices running iOS 5.0.1, finally @pod2g of the Chronic-Dev Team announced that he has jailbroken an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1 successfully.
When Apple has seeded the latest iOS version, the Dev Team was concerned that perhaps it is not a good idea to update. But now that someone has proved the jailbreak is possible, it’s now safe to update into the iOS 5.0.1. Moreover, this jailbreak is untethered which can be more exciting when it will be released.
Right now, @pod2g is now testing the jailbreak for devices iPad 2 and iPhone 4S after successfully tested the original iPad, iPod touch 4th gen, iPhone 3GS and Apple TV. If it will run successfully, an official jailbreak will be released soon after completion. The following video is a demo by @pod2g that an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 was confirmed.
